TBILISI, Georgia – The light of Chanukah came to Georgia, beginning with a celebration in the Great Synagogue of Tbilisi. The event involved the President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, who lit the first candle of the Menorah, as well as Shabtai Tzur, the Israeli Ambassador in Georgia, and Rabbi Avraham Mikhaelashvili, the country's Chief Rabbi and Chabad Lubavitch representative.
