TSAKHKADZOR, Armenia - A Chanukah seminar for students from Yerevan and Vanadzor was held on December 14-16 in the city of Tsakhkazor, Armenia. Rabbi Gersh-Meir Burshtein read a series of lectures on history of the holiday. This is the first event of this kind held in this pictorial snowy corner of Armenia. The seminar aimed to make more of the participants feel more in touch with the Jewish community.
Another interesting experience during this seminar was the so-called art workshop, where students had the opportunity to make posters reflecting their Jewish self-identity. Participants presented most interesting works, revealing personal feelings about their Jewish self-identity.
