With over a million citizens from the Former Soviet Union living in Israel, Israel is not only the eternal homeland of the Jewish people, but a place where every Jew in the FSU is deeply connected to especially because they have family members living there.
The FJC places great effort on solidarity with Israel and the Jews living there by creating programs of connections and support. The FJC sponsors community wide solidarity rallies for Israel, community tours to Israel, partners in Birthright Israel trips for thousands of young adults, and participates in festivals with the Jewish Agency celebrating life in Israel. Recently the FJC of Russia held a nationwide campaign to help victims of terror and the response of tens of thousands small donations were able to deliver $50,000 to victims of terror in Israel.
While the purpose of the FJC is to rebuild communities where Jewish people choose to live, thru our partnership with the Israeli ministry of education, teaching thousands of our day school children the beauty and sanctity of Israel, it is our hope that in the future they will either choose to join millions of other Jews who have made Aliyah or always be connected and support Israel from their local communities in the FSU, and this will be credit to the education they received in our schools or the Jewish pride they developed by being part of our communities.
