Dnepropetrovsk Campaign Focuses on Tanya Book

Monday, February 15 2010

DNEPROPETROVSK, Ukraine – Seven hundred copies of the Tanya, the basic book of Chabad Chasidic philosophy, were gifted to the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish Community. Tanya was written by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of Chabad Chasidism and a disciple of the Maggid of Mezritch, the successor of the Baal Shem Tov.

The books, in the original Hebrew with a Russian translation, were donated in memory of Reuven Ben Simantov Tsitsuashvili and Eliyahu Ben Aharon Shabtoshvili. They are being given to students at Jewish schools in Dnepropetrovsk, residents of the Beit Baruch Home for Assisted Living, and students of youth and adult education classes.
