KEMEROVO, Russia – The Chief Rabbi of Kemerovo, Dovid de Bresser, and Chairman of the Jewish community, Ilya Bondarenko, held a meeting with the city’s Mayor Vladimir Mikhailov today. This represents his first ever meeting with the Mayor since being appointed as a Chabad Lubavitch emissary and assuming the post as the community's resident rabbi.

Rabbi de Bresser and Ilya Bondarenko, the Chairman of the Jewish community spoke about the development of the local community and informed the top municipal official about the future Jewish Community Center that is planned for construction in this west Siberian city.

At the end of their friendly and constructive dialogue, Rabbi de Bresser presented the Mayor a wonderful gift to remember their visit by: a silver-made menorah that he had brought from Israel.
