TEL AVIV, Israel – An Agreement of Mutual Cooperation was signed in Tel Aviv between the Israel-Russia Chamber of Trade and Industry, the Union of Manufacturers of Israel, the Israel Export Institute, and the Union of Businessmen of Russia.
Alexander Shokhin, the Chairman of the Union of Businessmen of Russia, signed the agreement representing the Russian side, while the Israeli party was represented by the Head of the Israel-Russia Chamber of Trade and Industry, Lev Leviev, a well-known Israeli businessman and international philanthropist. The document was also signed by the Director of the Export Institute, Shraga Brosh, and the Head of the Union of Manufacturers of Israel, Yechezkel Asia.
The volume for 2005 of Israeli exports to Russia accounted for trade valued at over 400 million dollars, which is 40 percent more than the associated figures for 2004. By December 2005, Russian exports to Israel constituted more than 1 billion dollars, which is 70 per cent more than was the case in 2004.
